Comments Showing of 8 8 new post a comment ». Mar 08, PM. Hello, I would be interested in recommendations for what I think of as "post-gay" novels. Maybe that's not the best term for it. What I mean is novels that have gay characters, or a gay or homoerotic sensibility, but where that is not the main focus of the book.

I loved these books probably for a variety of reasons, but certainly one important reason was that they have gay characters, and I felt that they conveyed a sense of inclusion in the larger tapestry of life, if you will, that we are all a part of, straight or gay. I don't think anyone would call either of them a "gay" novel.

I love gay novels, but recently I am especially enjoying books like Lacuna and CA. I am a new member of this group; if this subject has been discussed previously, I apologize. Perhaps someone could refer me to the discussion topic. I'll check it out. I loved "The Curious Incident Mar 09, AM.
